Nadia Elena Comaneci

When she competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete became an international sensation by scoring the very first perfect ten on asymmetrical bars. She went on to achieve the same feat with six more perfect tens, giving her the distinction of being the smallest Olympic gold medalist in all sports with a mere 14 years of age. Not only did Nadia Comaneci draw attention from all directions She also played a role in helping Romania find itself a place in the world map. Through achieving a feat that was inconceivable and a sporting legend, she brought gymnastics to the forefront of international interest. The sport also altered the perception of women gymnasts. She had such an impact that she became known as the Olympic toe on and release move. These moves remain extremely difficult.
